We’ve been having a BLAST with this Spring’s intern, Melissa! Beyond grateful for her INSANELY hard work ethic and drive to learn and amazing attitude. She’s been a dreamy dream. Today was her 5th wedding anniversary with her husband Danny, and because she drove all the way from Texas to work with us for 8 weeks, she is away from him! And we are so grateful to him for being so supportive of her picking up everything for this time to come meet and work with a bunch of crazy flower people in DC.

So back to my story: Danny gave us a call and asked to get some flowers for Melissa from him, to which of course we said, ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM! He told us a funny story about how he roped her into planning her own engagement party (unbeknownst to her) and thought that a nod to their backstory was appropriate here and that we should have her make her own arrangement (unbeknownst to her). So we set her up with some goodies and told her we had a last minute client we had to fulfill an order for and to play around and practice and make something pretty!

After a ton of stressing and back and forth and perfecting her piece, we gave her the Happy Anniversary news and sent her home with her perfectly perfect arrangement. She may have shed tears and I may have whooped for joy upon finding out that I had accidentally ordered flowers very close to her wedding colors including the juliet garden roses that were in her wedding bouquet! Can you talk about meant to be?
