A perfect way to spend a Tuesday morning! We had the honor of teaching an intimate centerpiece workshop as part of the Old Dominion Flower Cooperative today! This incredible cooperative has just been formed and is gaining tremendous speed and already operating so beautifully! This collection of over twenty local farmers has joined forces to create an efficient way for florists and event designers to get much needed local floral product in the quantities needed to produce large work! They are unique in that they also have local designers as owners who add a unique perspective in fine tuning processes to work particularly well for the event and shop community!
Very excited to see where this goes and how it continues to grow and we had a blast meeting a group of local (and traveling) students today brushing up on their floral skills and getting a chance to meet local farmers and talk about incredible local product! Enjoy a few images of the day and check out Old Dominion as well as the farmers whose product made up today’s workshop: Grateful Gardeners, Fox Hill Garden, and Louloúdi Farms.
