Team Retreat 2023 Recap
Putting effort into team bonding and celebratory fun is an important piece of our yearly goals –– taking time to soak up a job well done and to treat our team to let them know how much we appreciate them. Not always in the form of THINGS, but the quality time, using our words, and doing things for one another that mean something. All those languages of appreciation. We tried to touch on as many as possible over the course of three days ON TOP of setting up our year well by tackling some overarching work conversations and planning. We’ve got heaps of days planned for focused work and breakdown sessions that wouldn’t have been quite as possible without this focused time to regroup and plan together.
We started our time at an amazing Hemlock Hospitality airbnb location with evening cocktails, a homemade dinner, games, and discussion of our primary languages of appreciation.
Our first big day we spent resetting by enjoying some spa services! Then finished things out with yummy take out and recapping our finished 2022 year and doing a deep dive of our finances and budget and booking goals, making sure everyone could see how things are affected and where we can all be working together towards our goals!
The next day we spent in our pajamas working on shifting and planning our roles, responsibilities, and discussing team expectations together. We laid out some new goals to tackle things that are important to us and discussed new systems to make our lives easier and more efficient. We finished out the day with a fancy dinner out and then ice cream and champagne toasts in!
We checked out the last morning and headed straight to a croissant making class with our dear friend, Melinda of Knead and Know. Baking away all day and then munching on our hard work before heading home with more dough and freshly baked goods to share! Highly recommend these classes!
